About SAGA School The SAGA School is now planning for its fourth year. We provide a multi-age classroom experience with a balance of ages and developmental levels that aims to serve the individual needs of all our students. The school day is from 9:30-1:30 and follows the public school calendar.
During the 2008-2009 school year we will serve
approximately 24 preschool children (ages 3-4) and 8 kindergarteners (ages 5-6)
in a 1:8 teacher/student ratio in our Seattle location.
School Philosophy and Mission The SAGA School’s purpose is to provide each student with a bilingual education in a nurturing, safe and supportive environment that promotes self-discipline, motivation, creativity, and excellence in learning. By partnering with parents and the community, we strive to develop our students’ self-sufficiency skills, helping them to succeed and contribute responsibly in a global community. A non-profit, the SAGA School is led by a board of parents and community members.
Position Description Our school is looking for caring, enthusiastic, creative preschool teachers, assistants and substitutes. Successful applicants should be eligible to work in the United States (or willing to work with Amity.org as an exchange teacher) and reflect the following skills and experience:
