Previous exposure to the German language is not required for preschool students. Previous German is highly recommended for students enrolled in Kindergarten and required for students Grade 1 or higher.

How does SAGA's curriculum compare to that of a non-immersion school?

The SAGA School teaches a strong, well balanced curriculum for our students with the added layer and benefit of language immersion. In the elementary program, SAGA focuses on meeting the Washington State standards and Thüringen curriculum standards so that our students can be successful if they transition to a public or private school in the United States or if they transition back to a German program overseas.

What is the average class size?

For the preschool program, our goal is a 9:1 student teacher ratio and for the PreK program our goal is a 10:1 student-teacher ratio. For elementary programs, depending on the grade, there are around 12 - 20 students per classroom, with the goal of a 15:1 student-teacher ratio.
Does SAGA offer seasonal camps and enrichment programs?

The SAGA School offers camps for Spring Break, a series of Summer Camps and often a Mid-Winter Break in February. SAGA also offers a wide variety of enrichment programs for children of all ages, most in German.
